In the late 1940s, Macon Precast Concrete, LLC, as it is known today, was founded by a Norwegian entrepreneur, Palmer Woldhagen. After serving in the U.S. Army, Palmer decided to start his own concrete manufacturing company. He came to San Antonio, TX from Tampa, FL and named his new company Woldhagen Concrete Products.

Woldhagen began by manufacturing residential concrete steps.

Palmer founded The Wolco Company to create the business and sold Woldhagen Concrete Products to his brother-in-law Walter Macon in 1959.

Walter Macon was eventually joined by his son, Ron Macon. Together they worked to expand production to include the following:

In 2022, the company changed hands to the son and daughter of Ron. However, the Macons’ tradition of success remains. The company continues to sell products that are being used all over the nation.
